As a leadership consultant, José provides executive coaching, group facilitation and career coaching. He delivers customized solutions in the areas of leadership, team effectiveness, global and cross-cultural leadership and coaching. He believes that awareness of your own cultural mental models will help you recognize and leverage differences when working with diverse people and teams. He also believes that connecting with your inner voices or “inner tunes” is a key step for increased leadership effectiveness. He has been based in Singapore for over seven years where he has worked with a number of organizations and executives in this role within the APAC region. He has lived in Brazil, U.S.A., Germany, Switzerland and Belgium and has traveled extensively worldwide.

Previously, José worked with the Center for Creative Leadership in several roles in their EMEA and APAC offices. In his last role with CCL as an Enterprise Associate and Faculty, he worked closely with the Client Solutions group to customize and facilitate leadership development programs. He planned, directed and assisted in the design and delivery of custom program activities in collaboration with global clients and CCL staff. Before that, as part of the CCL APAC Management Team in the Business Operations Director role, José supported the expansion and growth of CCL in the APAC region.

José’s experience comes from working with clients from a variety of industries including Financial, Pharmaceutical, Telecommunications, IT, Service Providers and Government organizations. He has delivered programs and worked with executives in South America, U.S.A., throughout Europe, Asia and Africa

With a keen interest in Arts and Dance, José delivered workshops in Brazil and Europe in Body Expression and Movement. He worked with professionals in order to increase their awareness and better connect with their inner self through the use of movement, voice and expression. He helps individuals enhance their understanding of the impact of their leadership presence and image through their body language.

José began his career as a clinical psychologist and psychotherapist. Part of his time was then dedicated to working in educational institutions in the area of career counseling. José published the following articles: “The berufsbildertest : Vocational Pictures” (Achtnich,M. & Ferreira Filho, J.,1994, The Career Development Quarterly) and “Dance as a choice for life. On professional dancers’ personality” (Ferreira Filho, J. & Willems, L.,1993, Bulletin van de Vereniging voor Dansonderzoek). He also translated into Portuguese the book “Der Berufsbilder Test. Projektives Verfahren zur Abklärung der Berufsneigung“ by Martin Achnich (BBT. Teste de fotos de profissões. Método projetivo para a clarificação da inclinação professional, CETEPP, 1991).

Jose is fluent in English, Portuguese and French and is conversant in Spanish.

In addition to his practical experience, José is also accredited in MBTI step II, Firo-B, CPI, Change Style Indicator, Decision Style Indicator, Influence Style Indicator, CCL 360 Suite, Hogan Suite, Ei2.0, Leadership Versatility Index (360), WorkPlace Big 5, Intercultural Readiness Check and Coaching Supervisor.
